Day One of Finals:Over!

YESSSSS! I have surrivied my first final day! :)

My English final was rediculously easy. When I say easy, I mean EASY. The multiple choice pat was obvious. It was a major DUH.

Math was easy like I expected except a few things were hard. There was this one problem that didn't make any sense whatsoever.

I overall feel pretty good.

AMAZING THING IN THE KNITTING WORLD!!!
I just found out today in 2nd period that one of my good friends also knits! She was talking about how she was knitting along in 1st period and then suddenly her needle snapped! I was like OMG!So I talked to her about it. She is making this cool scarf that is checkered but double knit (purl side facing) It looks so awesome. I wanna make one now too!

I might possibly bring something to knit, like a scarf for something easy since tomorrow is going to be an easy final day. Since it's only really PE...thank god...

Anywho, I am going to go play Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor (which will probably freak me out!) :)

Finals start tomorrow!

This is both good and bad.

Good:
-no homework
-end of semester
-new classes next semester

Bad:
-I have to take finals
-The classes that I have finals in are 90 minutes. :(

Still can't find my dumb USB cord...it's somewhere...

Knitting update:

OMG, I have done a surprising amount of knitting over the last couple of days that it's rediculous...okay, not that rediculous, but I am halfway done with the front left pannel, on the sweater project that took me over a year and a half to make just the back. Amazng huh? Never knew that if I put my mind to it I could knit that much! This project is currently my main focus for me so I can keep my head in one place. Otherwise, I'd go crazy.

So get this, for my English final, I need to know the prologue to Romeo and Juliet (I already know it :) ), 30 literary devices, and be able to answer in detail 3 questions about TKAM. Whoop dee doo dah. To occupy myself, here are the literary devices:

Aliteration: repitition of consanants
Aliterative Sentence: sentence using aliteration throughout entire sentence
Allusion: reference to a person/story
Analogy: comparison between two things to show they are alike
Character: people, animals, main person or thing in the story
Conflict: the problem
Exaggeration: everstating/streching the truth
Forshadowing: use of clues or hints
Humor: something written to be funny subtle or obvious
Idiom: any figurative expression
Inference: something hinted at but not stated
Imagery: something that appeals to the five senses
Irony: contrast to what actually happened
Metaphor: uses 'is', like a simile
Onomatopeia: sounds that are written out
Oxymoron: opposites (ex. freezer burn)
Plot: story line
Point of View: view of the person or thing telling the story
Resolution: the resolved conflict, ending
Sarcasm: praise to mock someone
Setting: time and place
Simile: like, as, than compares with something else
Stream of Conciousness: writter writes what they are thinking as they are thinking it
Symbol: something that stands for something else
Synechdoche: using part of a whole to use the essential meaning (ex.military: army, navy, etc)
Theme: general idea of the story
Tone: attitude towards the reader

So that in addition to:

Two households both alike in dignity
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene
From ancient grudge break to new muntiny
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death, bury their parents strife
The fearful passage of their death-marked love
And the continuance of their parents' rage
Which, but their childrens' end, nought could remove
Is now the two hours traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend
What you shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

SO, I have to know that prologue and the literary devices above for English. Now, thats only English. My other final tomorrow is math. Which I am not too worried about since it's open note...THANK GOD.

My schedule for finals the rest of the week:

Wednesday: 2nd period and 5th period (English, Math)
Thurday: 3rd period and 6th period (Spanish, PE)
Friday: 1st period, 4 period (Science, Art)

My schedule next semester:

1st- coordinated science honors
2nd- english honors
3rd- spanish
4th- court/net sports
5th- geometry honors
6th- health

No fun classes this semester, I'm taking health since everything I want is full and I will eventually have to take health, so why not get it done now?

That's it for now, I promise pictures next time I get and next time I find my USB cord for my camera.

Dumb USB cord...

Okay, I would have posted pictures if only I new where my stupid USB cord went...

Today, there is lots to talk about.

First of all, I finally finished the back of my cardigan. Yes it did take me over a year and a half to do that (it wasn't the number on priority project, but now it is)! YAY! Now I am working on the front left pannel of the cardigan. Hopefully, the cardigan will be all downhill from here. Hopefully. I will be lucky if I finish it before I graduate high school. :)

Secondly, my family and I talked a great deal about the Farmer's Almanac. At least the weather portion of it... my dad is convinced that there will be no 'huge snow storm' in February, even though the Farmer's Almanac says that we will. My mom and my sister and I hope there will be snow. My mom and I decided that we are going to laugh if it does snow like a blizzard and then last for weeks. :) Hello snowdays!

Thirdly, I am thinking of a new knitting project to start soon. Yes, another knitting project. I got this green/blue/purple yarn that's really think and I really really like it (2 balls). So I am trying to figure out what I can make with it besides a scarf or hat or easy peasy project like that. Even though it would be cool if it was a hat...

Fourth, I am freaking out about finals. I have about 12 of the 14 lines of the prologue of Romeo and Juliet memorized. But I can't seem to remember the last two lines for the life of me. Then I still have to study for science. I am not too worried about math (open note), art (just coloring this small project thing), PE (just some physical tests), and spanish (I already did it, it was a presentation so I took it a week early) SO I am really only freaking out about Science and English.

Fifthly, I got a new Nancy Drew game. It's 'Double Dare Pack 3' which has the Secret of Shadow Ranch and the Curse of Blackmoor Manor. The Manor one is so going to freak me out. I am so flippin' excited! :)

So yep... hopefully I will find my USB cord soon... I'm going to go watch the Apprentice now. :)

-Adios-

Sorry...

I am really really sorry for not posting recently. THis last week has been the most stressful week-and it's not even finals yet! :( It sucks having to take finals.

So, the knitting side, I haven't really done much-been busy. No new yarn. No new books or patterns. No nothing.

Today I plan to go to Target and buy the Double Dare 3 pack which has two Nancy Drew games in one.

OMG... so today I was supposed to study with one of my fiends from noon to 5PM. Right? Well right not it's three and I just called her and she said she would be here at 3:30. Ooh, now we only have and hour and a half to study. Horah, that's so much time. :(

I'll post pictures tomorrow or whenever I get online next.

Saturday, January 20, 2007

Sorry it's been so long, these last three days have been very stressful!

Once again, I am very sorry. Thanks bowling... I still love it though. But for my high school, we got 1st place out of our small district for JV and Varsity. And yes, Varsity is going to the districts at Glacier Lanes. I do not like Mt. Baker Lanes at all. I think those lanes suck since they didn't oil them last time we were there and I also did really bad.

Today I went to Barnes and Noble and returned a knitting book that I have already and I got these: (store credit + $12)

Sorry for the short post but I just wanted to say that I am still alive. :)

Snow Day #6! :)

This is a yay and nay since that now, if the school district doesn't erase all of the missed snow days or whatever. I will be getting out on July 2! Wahoo. Doesn't that sound exciting! Not. I mean it's really really nice to have snow, actually, I am very excited! Besides that fact that our bowling meet against Ferndale at Majestic Lanes is canceled and will probably me moved to sometime next week and then Districts will be moved and possibly State... Isn't snow pretty? I love it.

In the knitting world, there isn't much to say. I restarted the heel on my Bazaar Sock. I knitted a little on the white sock that I hate. It's really ugly. Hmmm, am I thinking Christmas Present? Do do do... :)

I'll probably make socks for all of my relatives this year since I am in a sock knitting mood.

Oh yeah, here are some pictures:

To make up for yesterday's no pictures. :)
Have a good day and I hope it snows!

Not much here

I would be posting pictures today, but can I find my USB cord to plug inmy camera to the computer? No. It's around here somewhere. Today my plan is to bowl with my sister at two and then the rest of the day, I am going to knit or finish one of the three sock patterns that I am currently knitting. I'll probably finish the white sock pair, then hopefully finish either the watermelon or the Bazaar Sock next.

Let me tell you that the Bazaar sock is the most intense pattern I've done. I currently have to redo the heel (I've only done like two rows) because I followed the pattern and I was knitting the side not the bottom of the sock. WHATEVER. Stupid sock pattern...

News about the blog, I have added a counter which I don't think will tell me very well who is on my blog because I am constantly looking at my blog to make sure that my edits are correct and so I probably add over half of the page views. Goodness, oh well.

Yep, it's pretty boring around here at 10:20 in the morning. I hear it's suppose to snow 2-4" but it won't last too long because warm weather is coming in right after it, I hope the snow last enough for a 2-hour delay or something. Kinda hoping snow day, but at the same time I really really want to bowl in the meet Tuesday.

THat's it for now. Once I find my stupid USB cord, I will post pictures.

It keeps on snowing and I keep on knitting!

Okay, so it seems that the winter weather is far from ending. My dad informed me at dinner tonight that it is suppose to snow 2-4" by Tuesday morning or on Tuesday. One of the two. Either way, I amd kinda excited but I really want to bowl again Ferndale Tuesday at Majestic Lanes. Guess what! I also get to bowl Thurday at Anacortes and Friday in Mt.Vernon! Anywho, back to the weather. So our little snow "flurry" ended up being an additional 0.5 inches. And guess what! It's been about 5 or so days since the last snow day and none of the snow has melted and normally at my house, I'm lucky if the snow is still here (in large amounts like the entire backyard) are white. SO this is a signal that the worst is yet to come! I LOVE snow. But I do get the feeling that a lot of people around here are getting really sick of the snow. They don't know what they are missing. I think that the reason that I love snow so much is because I think that I am really still a kid inside. I know, I know, technically I am still a kid but a lot of people my age are not cool enough to want to play in the snow.

Now I shall talk about knitting since that is the main reason I am typing right now. Here are some things that I have knitted today. Yes, during the football game. Me gusta ver americano futbol. (I like to watch american football) By the way the Seahawks lost and now I have no interest in watching the other games except the Super Bowl (which my family and I like to refer to the stupid bowl as of two years ago untill the Seahawks finally got to the Super Bowl) But steering away from the play by play football, I knitted these while watching the game:

I got the lemon and lime pattern from Jess Hutch but I made the apple and banana on my own without a pattern.

I also knitted some of my sock since I last posted on here. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Same with the bazaar sock. If I posted a picture of it tonight, then you won't see much progress from yesterday, so I thought I would at least finish my current band before I showed more. So I am still knitting. I actually spent all day knitting and watching tv.

I think the snow really mentally makes me knit. I will never know. All I know is that I love knitting and I love snow.

Snow and Socks

This is what it looks like outside my house, and it's been like this for the last 3 days since temperatures can barely get above 28 degrees. Yes, and it is currently snowing (the weather people are calling them "flurries" but my dad just called from work and said it was snowing snowing and that the roads were turning white) I think the weather people are lying to us.
Above are some knitting projects that are currently being rescued. The top left picture is of this sock that has been on my "toothpick" needles since the summer time. That's why they are red and green- strawberries, get it? The other three pictures are my improvements overnight with the "Bazaar Socks". In the bottom right picture, I amalmost done with the first set of zigzags. Last night I was able to finish that huge diamond pattern section. That panel pattern was intense. That was probably the hardest color knitting thing I've ever done because I had to really pay attention to what I was knitting, several time I had to go back a couple of stitches because I had used the wrong color. Now I am not saying that the rest of this sock is going to be easy peasy macaroni cheesy, but you know what I mean. It's hopefully not going to get much harder. I hope. Wait, nevermind. I just looked at the leg part of the sock. Oh god, that looks so hard! There's like this weird diamond pattern diagnal thing then this candy wrapper looking thing. Oh well. I'll try.
HOLY CRAP! IT'S SNOWING EVEN MORE! THIS IS LIKE SNOW SNOW, NOT FLURRY SNOW!!!!!

IT SNOWED!

IT SNOWED!!! Well, more like it snowed two days ago, then yesterday was a snow day and then today was a 2-hour delay. I love snow days, besides the make it up in the summer part. But I heard that the superintendant might just erase all of the make-up snow days. It's bad enough that semester finals are pushed back a week. They were January 24, 25, and 26. Now they are January 31, February 1 and 2. It'll give me an extra week to study and do extra credit and finish my Spanish Project which I am already done with. Yep, so I heard that it's suppose to snow here by next Thursday! :) I love snow so much. I hope our 4-day week will be shortened to 3 or 2 days caused by the lovely snow. Here's what it looked (and still does for the last 3 days, since temps are barely above 28 degrees here) like. Yes, my cat was meowing sooo loudly yesterday when she saw that bird (in the first and middle picture) on my deck. It was weird, the bird was just sitting there. I think the poor thing couldn't move. :( I hope it's okay.

Okay, so I have decided on a projects that I started before Christmas that I am going to knit. They are these socks called "Bazaar Socks" but I think that they are the coolest socks ever. So again, instead of useing the yarn and needles they suggest, I am going to use size 6 US needles and some simply soft and some icky scratchy redheart, but these skeins are surprizingly not all that icky and scratchy. Yay! So, yep here are some pictures with my cat in them and OF COURSE, she looks away right as I snap the picture then after she hears the click, she pauses and then continues to sniff at them.
So here is what I caught of my kitty and my knitting. (The socks are in the picture) I'll get a better picture of her sometime when she isn't trying to lick herself for hours on end. The Sock Pattern is a toe up type sock. I decided that I am going to make it for my dad since the socks are way too huge for me unless I wore them as slippers.
Hope it snows!

Tuesday, January 09, 2007

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

OH MY GODDNESS!!!

I'm so excited for tonight and tomorrow! At about 10:30 or so, it's suppose to SNOW!!! I LOVE SNOW!!! Anywho, SOME people in my math class decided to tell me to stop saying that because I would jynx it. I doubt you can jynx science. I've been watching the news and so has everyone else. Since I live in the convergent zone, it's suppose to snow 5-8" OVERNIGHT. There will still be some snow showers tomorrow though. Then it is suppose to get super cold over the rest of the week which means.... ICE. Yay and nay on that one. One, it's super dangerous, but TWO, Heck, it means (hopefully) no school!!! Yeah, we're looking at getting out around July 2nd or so. Yipee. :( But, hey the snow is a ton of fun to play in. This time I am going to persuade my sister into actually playing in the backyard with me and we are going to have a snowball fight whether she likes it or not. She just doesn't know it yet... :)

On the needles, I am trying to knit socks but are boring me and I don't really know if I want to continue. They're kinda ugly in my opinion. But hey, that's just me. Besides the fact that I'm using worsted weight yarn and size 10 needles. Again, hey, it's just me. I think I might put some random good pattern names on a piece of paper and put it into a bowl and draw the names. And then knit whatever one I pick randomly. Or something like that. I think...

I'll post pictures of the snow, which it will snow... better be 8 stinkin' inches! :)

YAY! FIRST PROJECT STARTED AND FINISHED IN 2007!

Omgoodness! I am so glad I finally just started something! (Yes, I used my stash since I joined 'Knit Your Stash 2007') So, let me just start this and say that the pattern was hardly 20 minutes, it was more like 2 hours, but hey, that was fine with me. 2 hours is a lot shorter than a lot of other projects out there.

Anywhooooooooo, THE SLIPPERS:

So I held two strands of RedHeart in Spruce and I made the first bootie/shoe. (In the top right picture it's the one on the right, see how perfect it is? Then look at the one on the left...) Using size P it went pretty fast. It was a fun, quick project.

Well, that's it for now.

I NOW HAVE PROJECTS IN MIND!!! INSPIRATION HAS FOUND ME!

Finally, for the first time this year, so far, I have new inspiration! Projects to knit and crochet! I have decided to join the Knit From Your Stash 2007 KAL !!! It sounds like so much fun. In addition I have some patterns for a hexagon afghan (crochet), Rectangular Granny Square Afghan (crochet), Mary Jane Slippers (crochet, but only take 20 stinkin' minutes!!) and more! Plus I've found even more interesting blogs that I will now look at frequently for inspiration when my own inspiration meter is dead.

I've added them so I hope you enjoy too. YAY! This is exciting. I think I will make the slippers first and post them on here tomorrow after I've finished them. Goodness, I am so flippin' inspired! I can feel myself in this dazed telling myself to knit knit knit knit knit! But I do plan to buy a ball winder sometime soon. Plus I still want to Super Clean-maybe next week. But yes! I will soon enough (at least before February starts, that's my goal).

Well, I'm off! Starting 2007 a little late, but starting it anyway!

Not much here...

Okay, so it's finally Saturday! Yay! Even though my school week was only 3 days, it was still very long. THere was this one girl in my mathe class who is being a snob towards me and I was like, WHATEVER. If she wants to act that way then fine by me. I really don't care for her.

On the happy trail, I was playing this extremely kiddy game that I haven't played in a long time. I ended up getting 15000 dollars in the game (fake money, not real) the links here:

Hot Shot Bussiness

It's incredibly fun. If you play the game, I suggest playing a candy store and finace with your own money. Plus, when you get the research and development option, take it. Instead of barely getting past rent, I would be making 5000 extra in addition to rent when using the research and develpoment object. So, yeah. Have fun with it.

In knitting, I havn't been doing much. Yes, I am still trying to find that project that pops out at me. Have I found it? No. I've been thinking I might knit a cozy type thing for my bowling ball bag since, frankly, it's ugly. But no motivation yet. I'm going to check out Craftster.org and see if there is anything there.

Still Knitting

Yes, this week has so far been an odd one.

I'm still trying to find the official 'frst project of the new year' project. So, if anyone wants to suggest a project or fun thing to knit, LET ME KNOW ASAP. I am almost willing to do almost anything.

Well, I am going to play Saints and Sinners Bowling-best game on earth besides the Sims 2... :)

Is it inspiration?

Okay, after somehow ending up at http://www.kessaknits.blogspot.com/ I felt somehow inspired by the pile of knitted garmets piled on her chair. And I now really want to knit appearal items like sweaters, t-shirts, cardigans, tanks, etc. GAH! I want to just knit and knit and knit. There just aren't enough hours in the day and then when I find time, I'm sleepy. Of course. Oh well. All I know is that I need to update my template design format thing because I need to add stuff.

FELIZ ANO NUEVO! (imagine the squiggle above the n)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! WELCOME 2007!

Okay, back to knitty land... I decided last night to stay up late and continue knitting the cardigan since I am trying to uphold my New Year's resolution to try to minimize the number of projects on th needles. I was so freaked out last night when I couldn't find my size 6 needles for the ribbing of the cardigan. I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! But then the needles ended up in the bottom of my yarn basket. Do do do... :)

I have about 20 more rows to go. Then I can start on the front right, front left, and the sleeves and then before you know it, my first handknit cardigan sweater will be fini! If it fits me then that would be awesome. If it's too big then I'll probably see if it fits my mom or sister. I bet it will fit one of them. I'll just have to knit and see.

Oh my goodness! I heard the funniest knitting joke in the entire world. (from http://plcdesigns.blogspot.com/2006/12/pricing-your-work.html )
It goes: 'A woman is knitting as she drives and her speed goes up to 95 mph when she passes a parked police car. The officer turns on the siren and gives her chase but the woman, oblivious, doesn't notice him. Finally, he pulls up alongside her car and yells, "Pull over! PULL OVER!" to which she replies. “NO! It's a CARDIGAN” '

The same page has an awesome tutorial of how to price your knitted items. Very informational. A definate read.

Anywho, hope your New Year is bright.
